Another wedding reception at Goodies

Goodies Restaurant, with its beautiful pool and dining area, is a popular place for wedding receptions. We had another one this past weekend – one of our housecleaning staff was married.

Typically for staff, the facility is donated and the wedding party provides their own food. They had a buffet that included chicken, vegetables, rice and such.

These are relatively quiet affairs, with the bride and groom sitting in chairs amid decorations, greeting friends and family as they arrive. Then everyone sits around in their own little groups until prayers are said. Then the eating begins, and these people were hungry, taking over both sides of the buffet line and coming back for seconds.

I thought a few shots might be interesting, especially since I now have a better lens (18×105 zoom) that gets me better close-ups than I could shoot before.

Lifetime journalist, author, magazine editor and publisher, now semi-retired and traveling the world. My plan, after living in Costa Rica for 14 months, was to visit a new country in southern Europe every three months to experience the culture and the challenge of adapting to a new environment, while on a fixed income. That plan was sidetracked when I was offered a job in Indonesia, providing an opportunity to explore Asia. Indonesia lasted for a 4 wonderful years but I have now moved on to Hua Hin, Thailand.
