Christmas is coming to Goodies

Well, another Thursday night Ladies Night, and its ladies 9-ball tournament, is now history. The restaurant has been decorated for Christmas, with several trees and lots of bunting and such. Christmas day will be a big deal, with a $30 buffet, Santa Claus and gifts for the kids, including all the local Indonesian kids from Smiling Hill. They also get soft drinks and ice cream.

Via came over for dinner and we shared a new dish by our new chef, Marco. He’s from outside Rome, a young guy and very talkative and demonstrable – like a true Italian. The dish was prawns and spaghetti, with red bell pepper and a spicy pepper. Topped with Parmesan and a side of garlic bread – delicious – and enough for two.

We had two two competitors this week, Lopho and Titik, and several other women who obviously weren’t working in kampung bule last night. Heni beat Risma in the final match. Here are the weekly ladies pool photos:

About 2bagsandapack

Lifetime journalist, author, magazine editor and publisher, now semi-retired and traveling the world. My plan, after living in Costa Rica for 14 months, was to visit a new country in southern Europe every three months to experience the culture and the challenge of adapting to a new environment, while on a fixed income. That plan was sidetracked when I was offered a job in Indonesia, providing an opportunity to explore Asia. Indonesia lasted for a 4 wonderful years but I have now moved on to Hua Hin, Thailand.
