Generic drugs

I don’t take any prescription drugs but I do take a couple of generic Aleve tablets every day for my back, and a daily aspirin for my heart. I’m running out of the naproxen sodium (Aleve) tablets that I brought with me so went to the drug store today to resupply. What a shock! I was buying bottles of 300 tablets for $12-13 at Publix. That same amount here costs more than $120. Looks like I’ll have to use the U.S. mail to resupply. Hope when I get on the government healthcare program this situation will improve.

The owner

The owner of my apartment came by two days ago to introduce himself. Frank is a retired fireman who also collects VA disability. He now lives in Colombia and says it’s great. He even encouraged me to move there or to at least visit him. Nice, friendly guy. We sat around and chatted a few minutes. He tried to sell me the unit but I’m not interested in owning. He paid about $60,000 and still owes $40,000. He did say he’s not going to raise the rent and I can stay as long as I want.

About 2bagsandapack

Lifetime journalist, author, magazine editor and publisher, now semi-retired and traveling the world. My plan, after living in Costa Rica for 14 months, was to visit a new country in southern Europe every three months to experience the culture and the challenge of adapting to a new environment, while on a fixed income. That plan was sidetracked when I was offered a job in Indonesia, providing an opportunity to explore Asia. Indonesia lasted for a 4 wonderful years but I have now moved on to Hua Hin, Thailand.
